Requirements to Become an Enrolled Agent (EA)


To earn the EA designation from the IRS, candidates must meet the following requirements:

 Obtain a valid Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)

✔ Register and pass all three parts of the Special Enrollment Examination (SEE)

✔ Undergo a suitability check, including a review of personal tax compliance

✔ Adhere to ethical standards set by the U.S. Department of the Treasury

The CIA exam is a globally recognized and rigorous assessment of your knowledge and skills in internal auditing. Administered by The IIA, the computer-based exam consists of three parts:
